Course Description:

This course explores the adab (etiquette) and akhlaq (character) that Islam emphasizes for social interactions, including family and community relations. Drawing from prophetic teachings, students will learn principles of kindness, patience, and respect that can transform daily interactions into opportunities for spiritual growth. This course prepares students to embody the Prophet’s ﷺ conduct, making Islamic manners a natural part of their lives.

Ml Zahid Chowdhury

Shaykh Zahid Chowdhury was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Chicago. He graduated high school with an IB diploma and completed university studies with a BS in Chemical Engineering. After graduating, he worked as a Filtration Engineer at one of the largest water purification plants in America. 


During that time, he also started studying the Arabic language and Islamic sciences part-time with local scholars. In 2008, he moved to Bangladesh with his family for full-time study in a traditional darul uloom. He spent the first three years studying an Arabic and Quran focused syllabus known as the Madani Nisab, created by Maulana Abu Taher Misbah (db). After spending dedicated time under the teacher himself, Shaykh Zahid finished his studies in Dhaka. He completed the final three years of the 'alim program at Shaykh Zakariyya Islamic Research Center. He later spent a year in Zambia, pursuing further studies in Hadith and Tazkiya.  

Upon returning to the United States, he spent several years working in the IT field, along with teaching Arabic and Islamic sciences. He is currently a full time instructor at DarusSalam Seminary.
