Course Description:

The Shamāʾil, or the study of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ’ physical and moral attributes, is a cherished aspect of Islamic scholarship and a delicacy for all believers. Understanding the Shamāʾil provides invaluable insights into the life and personality of the Prophet ﷺ, serving as a model for ethical and spiritual excellence. The detailed descriptions in Shamāʾil literature highlight the Prophet’s physical features, his daily habits, and the virtues that distinguished his behavior, presenting him as an ideal figure for personal emulation. In this course, students will study classical texts that describe the Prophet’s attributes, gaining a deeper appreciation of his exemplary life. Key topics will include his physical traits, his conduct in various settings, and the moral virtues that defined his interactions. Through this study, students will be inspired to embody these noble traits and strengthen their connection to the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ.

Maulana Abdul Basit is originally from Islamabad, Pakistan. After earning his B.Sc Economics degree from the University of London, he did his 4 year Shariah studies from the department of Kullya Tush Shariah at Jamia tur Rasheed Karachi.

He holds certifications in personal development trainings such as Strategic Visions, Parenting, Time management, bridging differences, etc., and has conducted workshops on related topics.

Along with his diverse background of contemporary and Islamic sciences, he has a rich experience of teaching Seerah of Prophet Muhammad and Tafsir of Quran in Alburhan Institute in Islamabad. He is supervising the Islamabad chapter of Al Ehsan courses; a project of Jamia Tur Rasheed
